If I speak those words

If I speak those words

A Poem by Meraki

I've been in love before
Never again
Not in the same way
At least

I hope to love again
Some day
Maybe...

If it's soon
I hope it will last
No, I know it will

Let me make this solemn vow
I will not fall in love unless
I know we will love strong forever
That simple phrase
How sweet it sounds
Will not pass my lips

Unless my heart sings
Simply at the whisper of your memory
And yours the same
Even after our demons have shown their face

Why?
Because that love will last
Of that I'm sure
