StrayA Chapter by MerakiWe are running Sprinting as fast as our feet will take us Bodies slicing through the air The wind whipping against our faces Eyes bright with joy Freedom on our fingertips And when we look down... Our feet haven't moved The air around us undisturbed Dust settled upon the ground untouched The clouds drifting through the sky Likes boats on the ocean The air is stale now Looking ahead to see the sun settling down Just like that our dream is shattered As night begins to fall We hear it stalking us in the shadows We watch in horror as our hunter Is made visible Another day spent in vain When will you learn, In stunned silence we watch helplessly The tear we were unaware was shed Brushed gently from our cheek You can't outrun yourself. We stare back into unmistakable eyes Fear coursing through our veins Pity evident in theirs I suppose it won't stop you from Trying again tomorrow. Let's have some fun together until then The malice in our voice the sadistic gleam in our eyes That devilish smile, Every moment we breathe until We may dream again, Is spent in the agony of our own company. You'll never be free until you accept me You can never get rid of me... *Tortured screams fill the still air*
