When she writes

When she writes

A Poem by Meraki

The girl who writes
Without knowing her words
Until they're known again
Her world is vast
But her mind is shrouded in mystery

How confusing it all must seem

The world is alight
In wonder at night so
She sits to inscribe the things she's learned
For the world to join in
Her wonderland

Her hands move on their own
Repeating words that are engraved on her soul
While her mind
Oh, her magnificent mind
Is dancing in the clouds

When she checks back in
To the poem she made
She must also discern it for herself

Isn't it simply remarkable?
Yes, incredibly so.

After the first stanza, I began feeling a genuine rhythm through the piece. It even seemed to be very pleasant to the ear when spoken aloud, and pulsed rather nicely. The overall sparse use of punctuation would typically make works like this difficult to read, however the abrupt pause at "Oh, her magnificent mind" was absolutely astounding (probably partially attributed to the punctuation choice). The piece was broken into thematic sections very nicely, and overall it was a very enjoyable read.
