Stand tall

Stand tall

A Poem by Meraki

I've lived my life in blissful ignorance
Getting broken bits and tattered pieces
Of what it was truly I like

Now I sit here and wonder..
Was that ignorance truly bliss
Or was it a monster?
Because now I've hell to pay
For hell is what this world truly is

I find my stubbornness
A virtue at times for
I will not crumble under the weight
For it was there all along
Stand tall even when my legs
Break under me
Bones piercing and stretching
Skin and muscles
Stand tall, I will

Author's Note

Meraki
Stand tall no matter how gruesome it seems, when all hope is lost. Stand tall.
