Catalyst for peace

Catalyst for peace

A Poem by Meraki
"

At this point I'm just happy I no longer have writer's block :D

"
She saw me searching
She came over and asked me
What it was I was looking for,

A catalyst, to bring about peace
I replied.

She threw her head back and laughed
Kind of a gutteral sound

"What?" I asked her
Searching still
And growing slightly annoyed

Stop searching for what you will not find
She said
Solemnity lacing her words

I looked up at her and smiled
Amusment gleaming in my eyes
How will I find it
If I do not search?

Peace is not found but discovered
When we decide that lives
Are more important than things.
To bring peace you'd have to change
Everyone's way of thinking so that it is equal
It's impossible.

With that said she walked away
To this day I have to believe
The catalyst for peace will one day grace
This earth.

A kind of a guttural sound, your repetition of a makes this awkward, I would drop one of the 'a's. The 4th stanza's language feels awkward as well in how it fits in with the rest of the poem, I am not sure why, maybe poor word choice somewhere? I would also consider the use of quotations for the dialogue, although it is hardly necessary. All in all an interesting read. Funny enough, I think we find many things in life without searching. In fact, there are times where by searching for something we overlook that very thing.
