This Fire Died Too YoungA Poem by Darby Raeblah, boys suckThis fire died too young It had nothing left to burn You gave up on the heat Debating on its worth It was too much trouble To love me like you had before So you left me standing there Outside your closed door I don’t understand What happened to us? Because we loved one day But not the next I felt the storm approaching I could see it in your face But I never said a word After every blow I met Because I thought something was real But it truly never was Only a corruption of my heart And a deception of yours I can finally let it all out I can let myself cry After I learned to love you You found out how to fly And the hardest part Is putting out the fire in my chest So this blind less love That we will never have Will lay at rest with other dreams With no chance Before we part Did you ever feel it to? This burning in my heart © 2012 Darby RaeAuthor's Note
