the Locksmith of my heart

the Locksmith of my heart

A Poem by Darby Rae
"

SO OLD!

"

Like little balloons fleeing towards the unbound sky

my soul will lift towards the locksmith of my heart.

He’ll be there waiting key in hand ready to hold me once again,

He will be imperturbably silently sitting under a willow tree

waiting for my turn to walk in the place of heaven,

under the bowing tree he will lie shaded with its flowering grace

while a dainty petal dances around his face.

He’ll wait for me from dawn to dusk

never collapsing from the sure weight

of exhaustion that lay hoisted upon his shoulders.

He will be there,

he would never leave until my hand was once again intertwined with his own.

 Until the day I die,

He’ll be there waiting for me

in the kingdom of the sky.
