Within My Head

Within My Head

A Poem by Melanie Taylor

Within the temptation of my imagination
A force to be recognized
But not feared

A darkness creeping in the back of my mind
One to be harnessed
But not abused

A power derived by my heart
But worked by the mind
Used by Fear

Her strength is dark
Her power strong
I submit

With no hope to fight her off
I submit to her instead
With caution

Their love strengthens us
Brings us closer together
Through our hearts

Forever their love powers us
And forever it will do so
Til death do us part

Great imagery created by the magical words.
Can't move away from the lovely stanza:
"A darkness creeping in the back of my mind
One to be harnessed
But not abused"
