Don't Become Cold

Don't Become Cold

A Poem by Allison Faith Melton

The world is going to beat you down and test you in every way possible, but I am begging you, don’t let the world make you cold. Everything that you do, do it to your fullest ability. Don’t be afraid to love, and when you love, love with a passion that runs deep. You’re going to realize that you can’t make everyone happy and that’s okay. Take chances, and if things don’t work out, move on, it’s okay. Drop people that don’t make you happy, but remember that they once did make you happy. Don’t hold grudges. Forgive people. I’m not saying forget what they did to you but forgive them. Life is too short to hold onto things and people that don’t make you happy. Let go of those things but don’t let the world make you cold. Forgive. Take care of the things and people that make you happy and let go of those that don’t. Take chances. Do what makes you happy, and love with a passion that runs deep. Don’t be afraid of the world.
