She's Trying

She's Trying

A Poem by Allison Faith Melton

She doesn’t belong. She’s an outcast, she’s this, she’s that.

Did you ever once stop to think about how she is trying? How she’s doing everything in her power to change? You just see what you want to see, not the underlying things, the underlying pain that has made her this way. Maybe if you slowed down and got to know her you’d see all of this. You’d see how hard she is trying to be okay.

Yeah, she is trying to change, and yeah, she looks okay. But look deep into her eyes and tell me that she is fine.

We only look at the outside part of a person, we never even think about what may be going inside that person... we judge that person by their outside part but if we just think about their inside struggle and understand the hardships they are going through then we would not judge them.... very thought provoking questions here, well done...
