Mysterious StrangerA Poem by Melon CholyAs I brush my long dark hair I feel a chill upon my skin The curtains billow in the night breeze But it's not the night air that has given me goosebumps I feel eyes upon my form as I continue to brush Long slow strokes through my hair Wondering, slightly afraid but more curious Who has dared to enter my bedroom window Thinking quickly, I realize it's an easy climb And perhaps I've been waiting for this night afterall I lay my brush on dresser and glance in the mirror Turning slightly to find the eyes that are upon me I see his form, dark in the shadows, unmoving His cologne is light on the air, as he continues to stare It creates an intoxicating moment, yet fear still mingles My breathing quickens from the not knowing, when He makes a move towards me, whispering words I cannot make out He reaches his hand out for mine, I tentatively move Take a step forward, placing my hand in his Where do I find the courage, the trust? He pulls me with a tug into his embrace For a deep passionate kiss, his lips are hungry He devours me and I am breathless He pushes me away, as if magic, music comes on From where, I know not, only the smooth voice of Frank Croons, singing, strangers in the night...... My mystery stranger begins the dance, my gown flows Around my feet, swishing against his legs He pulls me tight, body to body for another kiss "Hey baby, it's me" he says with a deep chuckle And with strong arms, he lifts me to our bed As Frank continues his song of romance.
