The Treasure Chest of MemoriesA Poem by Melon CholyAhhhhh.....memories! Sweet, sweet memories! Some of my fondest memories are those in my treasure chest the treasure chest I store in the back of my mind.
Memories of my grandparents, long gone spending summers with them, as a child playing in the creek, working in their garden the summer sun bringing out the freckles in my light Irish skin.
Memories of my childhood so careful and fun family vacations, different places the whole world to explore.
Memories of my first love staring out the window of the school bus dreaming of him, of him kissing me of us not getting caught.
Memories of my other loves each one a different kiss a different embrace a different fit next to his body, each one a unique memory just for me.
I treasure these memories I've acquired While I may not think of them daily sometimes, when I am being nostalgic I will open my treasure chest of memories I will take them out, examine them, enjoy them and when it's time, I will put them back back, into my treasure chest of memories. © 2008 Melon CholyReviews
