If The Wind Blew Harder

If The Wind Blew Harder

A Poem by Melody
"

Please read and tell me what you think.

"
If the wind blew any harder,
The children would crash from the swings.
Big Ben wouldn't chime, and never tick.
There'd be no planes, we'd fly through the sky
with the wings the wind has given us.
The rain never land, bathing us,
leaving the existence of showers- useless.

If the wind blew any harder,
The tears we shed wouldn't hit our face.
nor the paper we've written upon.
The letters would be stolen before
a single letter was ever printed.
The texts we send would take
hours to reach the correct receiver.
The rumors we spread would
be like an outbreak of Plague.

If the wind blew any harder,
the silence we wished for
would never arrive, for the music
of the wind is a little too loud.
If the wind blew any slower,
the kids wouldn't have kites,
and the trees wouldn't catch
plastic bags. The birds couldn't
fly and the bats wouldn't glide.
World Peace would be in reach
because the bullets  couldn't race,
and the pain wouldn't be heard.
The screams would echo, like
a broken record on repeat cycle.

If the wind blew the way we'd like,
we'd all have genies in lamps,
true wishes at 11:11 at night,
and the shooting stars would
for all of eternity and time beyond.

We should all know,
that if the wind blew any harder,
it would just blow slower.

Tell me what you think, please!
-I haven't chosen a picture for it yet, but I sort of like this tree, so maybe I'll keep it.

Beautiful!! I have lost 4 family members ON 11/11 and AT 11:11. Big Ben made me think you put me smack down in the middle of London. Thank You!! It's much prettier and fun in your poem than on Google map and some spare time. : ) I have had this one "favorited" for a few days now and will, surely, visit again. Lovely poem. You speak of what seems like hundreds of tiny poems that make up one big one. Beautiful poem!! xoxo -Mark

Thank you. I can see how that video would match this.
This is very nice, mon amour. I like how the central subject is something we often take for-granted. Wind. And all of the pieces it touches. Lovely.
