New WaveA Poem by MelobldnfrIn admiration of a fellow poet.08/10/11
I am slack-jawed, agape in awe of your artistry. Your works make me curious. In your face and your lines I see a soul, as I am, Old and adrift in a time not quite yours and not quite mine. I see lovers and sisters beneath the moon, I splash in seas of incessant thirsts, I experience transgressing depths startlingly potent: Poignant sapphire, sapphic emerald and haunted jade Whereby ruby remains bleed amethyst Beneath a white-hot citrine sun in some smoky crystal shade. It is bitter-sweet as lemonade, And beautiful as the making of a sword or some craft Taken for granted despite the gravity of such undertakings. New wave, not so new, how you take me As salt from my pores and sand beneath my feet... © 2011 MelobldnfrReviews
