These Few Precious HoursA Poem by MelobldnfrGive me some sweet similitude to a stretch of my wings!07/30/11
I am stirred from slumber glorious and deep To live amongst these who in wake are asleep. Biding my time here is touch and go - For I was somewhere else precious hours ago.
I do tire so of people and their insidious games. Cuckoos and watchtowers and nightmares with names... They bind and tie me, they think me their slave, But I was somewhere else precious hours ago.
I look foward to little and trust very few, Surprised by nothing where nothing is new. Once I did shine and sparkle. 'Tis true! But was shaken from truth precious hours ago.
Still I reach for where there is light! I've touched a few's hands, a few's hearts, a few's sights... I'm no longer alone. Would like to think that I'm all right, But the knowing came and went precious hours ago.
Love does reside, but by current lamps goes gray. Struggling against others' willing filth, I decay. So much work lies around me, there is no room to play! And Time laughed at me precious hours ago.
So keep me from drowning in Gabriel's tea! Lift my weary chin, and this heart, as my pleas. Give me some sweet similitude to a stretch of my wings! Yay, though my soul weeps, I have hours to go!
