Humanity

01/17/11

Not to forget

But rearrange

Not to move on

But ahead

Not to deny you

But not deny myself

Not to harness

But to rain

Not to dismiss

But to forgive

Not to regret

But to gain

Not to promise

But to persist

And to forget

Rather than to frame

To do and come undone

To be redone

Not to limit

But to submit to the sky

To hold

Without holding or being held

To not point

But to pray and lead the way

Inside my fist is a hand

My hand over your hand

Over my fist

Ah, to risk and give

While giving nothing away

But the day and that of me

Meant to be given:

My humanity
