It's MeA Poem by MelobldnfrIt's Me

As I lay me down to sleep My soul is sad, my body weeps Obediently I've stepped away Pieces of me died in waking Wretched deeds enslaved her Before we could yet this time meet Darkening the lids of her spirit To even me Her friend, love, fairy Fed upon Love zombie Trampled by green beneath booted feet Yet of the same plumage and cloth So stamp beside what's left And make deranged harmony Too much blood Too much deceit Lies to oneself In order to honor the memories While from them be freed Cutting off scars And with them, the flowers Until all that's left Is blackened stems and hours Shocks of silver hair Atop shadows upon shadows Such whispers in the night Echo upon curse-painted walls I reached out Or began But realized the plight Be best 'til once again She can actually see it's me © 2017 MelobldnfrAuthor's Note
