John Wayne

John Wayne

So I want meaning
Not just frills and mundane
As fluff ends up
Like too many clothes in a chair
Insane

You say one thing
But do another
And I'm just supposed to clap
In my popcorn
Climb up in your lap
And say, "Thanks"?

Truly, I have more gratitude than you know
And mine, well it's not just for show!

But I don't know
How to deal with your John Wayne
The world has moved on
And you're back there
Somewhere
Are you gonna smack me around
When I get out of line?
Or just make fun
Of my rhymes until I die?

You are avoidant
I feel you shaking me
Yanking on your "willy" with your friends
As if it's there

Well, no matter
You came to my rescue
And I was flattered
But now flattened
And oh-so-overdue!

I just don't know
How to deal with your John Wayne
The world has moved on
And you're somewhere
Back there
Are you gonna smack me around
When I get out of line?
Or just make fun
Of my rhymes until I die?

No, I don't know
How to deal with your John Wayne
The world has moved on
And you're back there
Somewhere
Are you gonna smack me around
When I get out of line?
Or just make fun
Of my rhymes until I die?

Are you gonna smack me around
When I get out of line?
Or just make fun
Of my rhymes until I die?
