CrashA Poem by MelobldnfrThe tree feels my heart; Enlivens it
07/26/17
The tree, it feels my heart; Enlivens it, Brings it forth, Breathing, beating, pulsing, As the bark at my tips And ground beneath my feet.
Gears grind of not refraining to love me If you love me. The last pedal awaits its fall In its overturned enchanted crystal goblet. My soul grips at my chest: A tidal wave of tears. You crash, Naught but a wave, Tearing into my layers of solidity, Ebb in and out Hot and cold. You eat away at me. Do you not know? How could you not? So hungry you are, Gnawing away at this lone wolf of rock, And sand - beads of glass, I can no longer stand! Your incessant need Screaming its insatiable refrain Is more deafening than any blinding rain. Were this but a book That I may turn the page, Or a movie To forward the frame, Or a game where some bishop or rook Fiercely devoted to their service of me Would step up without look And prove you worthy or not Of that which you so easily took And tucked away God-only-knows where! You continue to bleed dry the life line All quartz and shiny Beneath sun and moon. I wane, light fading As you crash, crash, Crash, crash, Crash, crash, and crash again! Must you pride yourself so On being the storm? Witness what it does to you! To me! Do you call this free? Do you? Call this... ...Free?!
