Crystal PedestalA Poem by MelobldnfrI think he'd call me FriendSong 06/12/16 If I could have but a moment Let me bend your ear I can't help but notice We're both drinking alone
See that one in the corner? I think he'd call me Friend If he knew what I know, But then again.
It's not her fault, Beneath the blame they'll never be free. She's no way to repair The leaking faucets he perceives. His mind built the step, it built the stair, And it built the fall...from that Crystal Pedestal.
Now he's a thousand miles away, On business of course. To get himself together, But he's no clue the source
Of what's eating at him. It changes rules to suit its needs, Tells him she's poison And keeps him too blind to see.
That its not her fault, Beneath the blame he'll never be free. She's no way to repair The leaking faucets he perceives. His mind built the step, it built the stair, And it built the fall...from that Crystal Pedestal.
She didn't ask to be put there, The air is thin and the world is small. She didn't ask to be placed Where anyone on Earth would fall. He pushed her away, She did the uncalculated. The unthinkable, and heights, are so over-rated. It's not her fault. Beneath the blame they'll never be free. She's no way to repair The faucets leaking as he perceives. His mind built the step, it built the stair, And it built the fall...from that Crystal Pedestal. © 2016 MelobldnfrAuthor's Note
