Did You?

Did You?

All along

Did you know all along
That you would never keep me;
That you'd be but a song,
A tune by which I'd weep?
An echo where I lay
In which I see your face;
Hear your deceptive voice
As warm as your embrace?
Tender vixen,
That I could slay such memories
Or beacon you darken my door
Once more with smile beguiling.
My wishes are not harmful.
I cast my protection.
The words for my truth are missing,
But I am trying.
