This Much

This Much

The state I am in, I know not the name,

But it's wonderful and blessed

As if paved just the same.

Years working Life's plow

To pour a foundation worth footing,

God gave me you once I quit

And let Him do the looking.

A mum in the hand of a farm girl from Iowa,

I am to you and you treat me as such.

A contented ebb and flow,

as some may say, a flux:

I knew I could love and be loved,

but could not have imagined

this much.

I can see honesty in the words you penned. I can see a pure heart and a breathing soul.
Nice piece.
