A partial manual of sorts.

Every now and then

I need to be the kid jumping in the pool screaming,

"Look at me!"

Every now and then

I need to be held and allowed to cry.

Every now and then

I'd like my door held open.

Every now and then

I could use someone to tell me why.

Every now and then

I need encouragement to speak.

Every now and then

I'd like lovin' just for fun.

Every now and then

I want to live in a fantasy.

Every now and then

I can't be held and have to run.

Every now and then

Dreaming would be nice.

Every now and then

I want to dance and lead.

Every now and then

I'd like to take my chances.

Every now and then

I need some room to breathe.

Every now and then

I will wear the leather.

Every now and then

I will wear the lace.

Every now and then

Let me hold your hand.

Every now and then

Touch my face.

Hear me say these things,

For I am not the wind,

Just cautious as an angel's wings

To ever begin again.

I would have to say that I relate more to this poem on the deepest of levels than anything you've ever written...of course all of your work moves me, but there is something different about this one...maybe it's the introspective aspect of it, as most of your pieces feature a character other than yourself. This one is all about you, which is a great thing...thanks for sharing this one my friend.
