Like Laundry

Like Laundry

A Poem by Melobldnfr
"

Just tired.

"

11/09/13

It's like a tank top.

They start out

That just-right kind of fit -

Snug, pleasing and appealing,

Holding you like a second skin;

Making you look and feel so good.

Only after a few tries,

They lose their shape

And have to be washed and dried

To resemble anything close

To what you originally knew the existence to be.

It is a risky business

This washing and drying.

I wish it would just come a kind of rain

Where I wouldn't have to keep

Treating this like laundry.
