All of YouA Poem by MelobldnfrMakes me smile...09/11/13
Unlike those who look at you And see a means to their own ends, An object, I look at you and see All of you - The good, the bad, the in-between.
The mother. The lover. The daughter and child. The insecure. The outraged. The betrayed. The worn. The bloody. The dreams. The nightmares. The calm. The shakes. Fireworks and foxholes.
The controlled and not-so-controlled, The contained behind the expressed, The kindness and at times Misguided tenderness.
I see how different we are From three short years ago. (There's no plucking this countenance. Beloved, it takes a blade!) I see our imperfections, Us in our entirety.
Yes. "Us", you Silly! Let not your brain crack And voice crank Like a kicked groin At the thought.
Extended, I must express wonderment.
"...The best" that "ever happened" to you? Maybe one day you will have the time And be of the mind to kindly elaborate.
