Do not be afraid,

I have been brought through much

To be open to you.

There will of course be times

We misunderstand each other,

Like in part out of our own various experiences,

But it is how we handle the misunderstandings

That will count us as tried and true.

     Ah, being able to reach for one another

     Even as we voice our differences!

You've shown such respect,

A respect I pray you feel from me

As well as for me.

You are a blessing I long to be to you.

Thank you for listening.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for being you.

For you are to me

More than I can say.

Beautiful poem. It reminded me of two things ... one I heard someplace recently ... if you have a choice between love or respect, choose respect because without respect there can be no true love. And ... of course ... that old song ... love you more than I can say. Oops ... three things!!!

I am fond of saying ... it is our likenesses that first brought us together but it is our differences that will make the bond we share even stronger.
