Beach's Sunburn

Beach's Sunburn

A Poem by Romello Simmons
"

This poem is comparing the idea of letting go of anything in the past and how difficult it is. Something as beautiful as the beach can be destroyed. To let go can be as painful a sunburn.

Welcome to the beach's sanctuary
Where your hearts are kept dry
Shield them to the glass jar
So they won't end up in broken heart cemetery

We all been there
Received our taste of the sunburn
The beaches sunburn
And it's one of the few things
To fight…to get over

This time of the year
Beach's sanctuary is in a dark state
Many tears have been shared this month
A sad state we were in
We will find the in between
In this world of negativity and hate

Somewhere I'll find my happy place
Hopefully a satisfying happy medium
Where I can whisper I love you
So silent…so tender
Emotions will feel so real
So your's won't disappear and hide

Love is dangerously a sunburn
Emotions relaxing on the beach
Never knew it would be so hard to leave
It's hard to get of the relaxation even when you had enough
The burns are here and hurts every day but it heals

Seagulls helped me be free
Chained on something that kills you
It's hard to let go and hide
When the pollution keeps you inside
Is time to break free…let go
Spread my wings and learn how to fly
