Blindfold Me

Blindfold Me

A Poem by Romello Simmons
"

This is about how our mind blindfold our hearts when we first meet someone but once we both let down our walls for each other and they turn out bad we question why didn't our mind blindfold our heart.

"
I remember when I met you
The smell of cirgarettes
Love for us was a tycoon
Because I didn't know liar's eyes were hazel

Dangerous love made me eager
So desperate to feel connected again
My walls remained down
Thought you were different
I was smart…I was dumb
To let you in
My poor heart love couldn't win

Once a masterpiece to a lost art
My mind did not blindfold my heart
Your love was confusing
I was up and down
I was happy and sad

My heart was a shattered balloon
I loved you too soon
Even when you given up on me
Made you think you own me
But that left me feeling lonely

Why didn't anybody blindfold me
Why didn't you blindfold me
My mind didn't blindfold me
