Love...What Is It?

What is love
The voice you hear in your head
The heartbeat you get when you see someone
What is it
18 years and I'm not sure
Love is tricky and may leave you insane

With a generation where hearts are broken
Nothing is promise
Leaving your head in a mist
And your heart start to decay
Because you knew they were your carbon dioxide
And their love was your poison

But what is love
Having feelings you hate
I have feelings and I hate how they exist
They determine a lot of things
But that can eventually change

Why take the risk
Love will never be forever
Feelings are like the weather
So at time you feel like letting go
Of someone you love
Is that right...is that love
Because I don't know

I been asking this question everyday
And still I have no answer on why I let go
Because I never truly loved anyone so I let them all go
Never truly in love till you feel acceptance

But what is love
I don't know and I won't know
It just something that not permanently
Just temporary passing time
And everything you wanted was never really mine
