Remember When

Remember When

A Poem by Romello Simmons

Remember those days
When your words caught my attention
When your love was my drug
Willing to give up everything for to a love infection
You wouldn't go further than a hug

Remember those nights
I would stay up so late
So scared to sleep I shake knowing everything wasn't right
Please say you remember because I do
I do

Love was so tempting for me
You tangled me in a cobweb of words
Things that wouldn't escape my head
Made me feel wanted but lonely instead
I should have put my dreams to bed

Seeds you planted on my heart
Making me feel like we had a chance
Holding my words knowing a future didn't exist
Taking my heart for granted
But I took the risk

Self destruction became my friend
My life was so unbalance I went insane
Pills...razor blades...you treated me like art
For once I gave someone my heart
But so much pain still remains

But there's still time for a brand new start
