AmnesiaA Poem by Romello SimmonsThis is a poem i have written about people who you love and thought y'all had a future together, but the memories you two made they act as if they never existed.
Do you remember me
I remember you You told me you loved me Promises felt so true I fell for you Hoping you fell for me too Skipped classes to see you But my heart skipped a beat thinking about you Falling in love is a bet But with you dreams weren't met Lost in the night Something wasn't right Signs of affection Your "love" was an infection Attention you wanted for your collection Planted your roots in my garden You swear you don't remember Pain lived on till December As my fragile heart harden Broken memories remain I'm so stupid, it's inane You chewed me out Now I'm always in doubt My hear full of cotton Memories we made but you swear you've forgotten Young and dumb Should've guarded my heart That would've been smart You forgetting scum You had a case of amnesia But pain is my specialty And I'm no anesthesia
