The Sea Arrives

The Sea Arrives

A Poem by Mellany

The sea arrives in a blue sequin dress
and moves candidly across a vacant shore.
Her body caresses like fingers on a piano,
her eyes sparkle with Greek constellation.
Each grain of sand adores her frivolous touch
and clings onto water,
clings to her love.
But the sea lacks commitment.
She will break her engagement
and retreat into the arms of the ocean,
leaving only the memory of her.
