Gravel and StoneA Poem by MellanyWhen we walked through gravel and stone, feet crunching on ancestral bones, the sky cried and laughed in jest and water crawled where it should not. Our bodies moved to a nocturnal pendulum and our heels dug deep into the back of the earth leaving an unforgiving scar. When we walked through this heaven of green I felt my heart carve out an intimate space for you, for this day, for this imperfectly beautiful landscape. © 2011 MellanyFeatured Review
