Happy Sweet 16 my Darling Daughter

A poem for my Daughter who turned 16 on May 10, 2008

My how the years have flown by,

always wanting the best for my little girl,

precious memories of you as a baby,

pretty as your little Barbie dolls.

Yesterdays are gone, for you are all grown up.

 

Beautiful as the morning glories that grow

in the bright morning sun, in a rainbow of colors.

WOW! you are now 16.

I wonder where all the years have gone,

because is seems like just yesterday

we were dressing you up for Halloween as a

beautiful princess with her magic wand.

 

Now today as I watch you putting on your make-up,

I'm thinking, 'My,  look how beautiful you are my darling daughter'.

Always wanting to be the best mother I could be

to you and your big brother,

never wanting to let either of you go.

 

Do you know how much Mommy loves you,

how proud I am of you?  

I am the proudest!

Proud of the beautiful young woman you have become,

The way you acheived in school, I am just simply proud of you.

 

 I always only wantedthe best for you and your big brother and you

I hope that you, my darling daughter will always know
I love you and I am very proud of you sweetheart.

 

 

I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday,

filled with lots of love, hugs and of course presents

from maw ma and paw pa,

not to forget from your

aunts, uncles, and your brother.

We are all very proud of you my darling daughter.

 

So on this your special day,

Mommy just wants to say Happy Birthday to you,

my beautiful angel, with many more to come because you are (a) wonderful.

Mommie loves you and your big brother heart and soul.
