Time To HealA Poem by Melissa KeseadThis is a poem I wrote while my husband was going through chemotherapy. It's part of my book, Setting The Furies FreeThe terror is over My mind is now healing My heart is still so sore And my thoughts still reeling
No one can hope to know Or try to pretend The pain cancer causes In family, spouse or friend
Your world turns upside down You lose track of your days Worry overwhelms you Your skies are always gray
You’re always in limbo And fighting for what’s true Keeping track of all things Because he counts on you
You’re looking for the end It doesn’t seem in sight Everything feels so wrong You just want it so right
I’m grateful for the strength Of all those around me I’m glad the time has come And he’s finally free
The hard time is over And healing has begun Now only time will tell If the battle was won © 2011 Melissa Kesead |
