The Crook Took My BookA Poem by Melissa Kesead
The Crook Took My Book The crook took my book I didn’t have time to look I was learning how to cook When he took it off the hook I was making cherry pie you see It was my favorite recipe I had made such a mess of me When the crook took the book from the hook I chased him down a one-way street My feet were slow, his feet were fleet I thought that he might have me beat Then the book fell from the crooks crook He fled the busy sidewalk then I bet we won’t see him again I went back home, feeling a hundred and ten And put my cook book back on the hook Can you smell that cherry pie? © 2009 Melissa KeseadReviews
