Newborn Bliss

Newborn Bliss

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

Soft as a rose

newly in bloom

and smelling quite faintly

of the sweetest perfume

Pink as the sky

when it's touched by the dawn

and as fragile and dependent

as a newly born fawn

Hair as fine

as silken thread

spread like down

upon the head

Cooing as quietly

as a mourning dove

an armful of joy

a bundle of love

This is especially meaningful to me as my daughter just gave birth to my first grandchild 1 month ago

so sweetly written. You capture to lovely innocence of a newborn child. Very enjoyable.

Seriously. This took my breath away. I'm dumbfounded to describe the reaction I felt from your timeless pen.

I love it.
