Patrick the Pie Man

Patrick the Pie Man

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

Patrick the Pie Man

Made all types of pies

From lemon and custard

To worm meat with flies

He mixed them

He baked them

All toasty and brown

He rolled them

He sold them

All about town

His customers varied

As much as his pies

Some were nice ladies

And some hairy guys

He kneaded them

He filled them

With custom ingredients

He would cook them

He would hurry

He could be quite expedient

From canaries to fairies

An iguana named Ray

From Uncle Joe to Aunt Flo

He would make it your way

He squished them

He glazed them

To a beautiful shine

He toasted them

He roasted them

I’m going to get mine!

Who would have thought of rhyming "ingredient" with "expedient"?! Hilarious. I'm hungry now. Wonder if my local shop sells pies..?

I thought that was a pretty fun poem. I liked the rhyme and flow of the whole thing. If he is an actual person who makes pies, i am sure he would delight from reading this.

Nicely done.
