Arrrgh!

Arrrgh!

A Poem by Melissa Kesead
"

This is a pirate poem for a contest

"

We sailed the high seas

with our swords at our sides

we plundered and pillaged

some of the crew died

We captured small towns

and we took all their loot

we caputred some ships

gave their captains the boot

We found buried treasure

and spent all the gold

there was always adventure

too bad we grew old

I liked the title... Drew me in. The ending reminded me ( I don't know if this was your intention) of the pirate that always had the clock chasing him but never wanted to age, Captian Hook!! I could smile and think to one of my favorite stories but also feel the fear of growing old.

I like this piece. The rhyming is consistent, and the wording is a little witty. Nice work!
