Marionette

Marionette

A Poem by Melissa Kesead
"

For a contest

"

You pull my strings

I'm just your toy

You take my love

as you take my joy

You pinch and prod

wrap me in chains

You strip my pride

and cause me pains

I'm your marionette

puppet on a string

just pull me along

I'll do anything

You bind my heart

you lock the key

I cannot feel

or think or see

You feed my fear

you bleed my dry

My emotions are dead

I can't even cry

I'm your marionette

puppet on a string

again, pull me along

I'm only your plaything
