Lady Jane

Lady Jane

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

Lady Jane

must you leave me alone

won't you please pick up the phone

take a taxi, come on home

And Lady Jane

I haven't had much time to think

but I've had too much to drink

and I'm standing on the brink

Well I'm standing in the doorway

with my hat upon my head

my eyes are turning red

and I think my heart has bled

away to you

Lady Jane

must you leave me alone?

Won't you please pick up the phone?

take a taxi, come on home

So Lady Jane

Don't forget me when you dream

or when you eat ice cream

if you did I think I'd scream

Lady Jane

I think all of us want to be remembered by the ones we love. It is hard to imagine that someone won't remember us as they move on. I like the desire this one has for Mary Jane to return home and I wonder if their words are falling on death ears. Nice melody to this one I enjoyed it.
