War

War

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

War

Cages rattle

From the feeble attempts

Of dying men to escape

Young women fight

In vain the men

Who beat and rape

Steamy jungles

Hide the enemy

That waits to kill

Solace found

Only in the

Taking of a pill

Bombs explode

And dirt rains

Over bodies of the dead

Dying men

Lie forgotten

While tears run red

Paints a scary image- no one likes war and you conveyed that wonderfully. Great job, it DOES seem hectic but that was what made it so powerful.

This is pretty good. It feels kind of hectic, yet powerful. Nice write.
