Unafraid

Unafraid

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

Slowly turning face to face

across the crowded room

Slowly and with catlike grace

we move toward each other

Silently we speak with our eyes

in a language known to few

Silently my heart cries

please embrace me

Cautiously our hands touch

and our fingers entwine

Cautiously I judge

the emotion coursing through me

Unafraid we stare

into each others eyes

Unafraid we dare

to embrace

This made me remember what it was like being a virgin and being in a loving moment for the first time. Bringing up courage to touch and enjoy someone else in the most intimate of times. Excellent write.
