Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

Needles falling on the floor

a green carpet

cold breezes through the door

makes one shiver

Lights twinkle on the tree

bulbs glisten

tin soldiers swinging free

on the limbs

Presents piled small on big

upon the flooor

in the snow children dig

to make tunnels

Christmas carols are sung

with family

by the fireplace stockings are hung

awaiting gifts

Soon everyone is snuggled in

sleeping soundly

waiting for Christmas day to begin

and jubilation
