Nightmares

Nightmares

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

Nightmares raging in my head

visions of the waking dead

terrify me

I lay awake too afraid

the things that my mind hath made

stay with me

Insomnia creeps through my bones

I try to envision ice cream cones

to console me

The creaking all throughout the house

a tiny, brown, furry mouse

scurries by me

The sun rises over the hill

and little by little slowly kills

what haunts me

I like this, it's different. You have some good imagery and the flow was really good. Nice work!
