Growing up Just Right

Growing up Just Right

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

Impish grins dominate

the faces of these

playful little children

who scamper through the leaves

Running through the sprinklers

playing hard to get

standing in the cool spray

getting soaking wet

Words spoken thorugh tin cans

dressing Barbie up

getting cooties from a boy

minnows in a cup

Parties in pajamas

popcorn on the floor

coloring with crayons

footprints out the door

Playing house and doctor

leaving on the light

cuddling with your parents

growing up just right

This is great! So much of childhood is included! I love all of your descriptions :)

very sweet. It has a wonderful 'care free' feel to it. Fantastic!

This is just so sweet. It reminds me of my childhood, playing house and doctor, not having a care in the world. It was nice to go back there for just a second. :) Thank you for entering this one into my poetry competition. ~ Nix

I can't believe there is only one comment on this. This is so simply cute. The rhyme just flows along so naturally.
