Patiently Waiting

Patiently Waiting

A Poem by MelissaBlack

Maybe she’s waiting

Over there in that

Corner,

The corner with the most

Unattractive lighting and the most

Unappealing stench of

Leaks and Enigma and

Cheeks turned the other way,

You know,

Away from the

Actual words that were

Actually said.

Maybe your lungs are

Fervently sucking in the

Space between you and

The Place You Have Never Dared to Look-

Shrinking the moments between

This You and

That You-

The two young

Lovers seeking the reviving

Coalescence of the

Union that has

Already been spun.

Maybe She’s there, in

That corner,

Reading a book and

Patiently waiting for you to

Open your eyes and

Realize you have been a

Bystander of your own Glory and

You have trudged down the

Sidewalks with tunnel vision,

Forgetting that people travel to your

Street, your

Home,

On vacation with

Expectations to see something

Beautiful.

Sometimes, stories just pour from me. They come in all forms. Sometimes they make a lot of sense, and sometimes I don't even know what they mean. They always feel right, and they always make sense at .. more..
