Scream

Poem about a sick man and a fly.

He sat in his room
Rocking violently in bed
They were coming soon
Something he would dread.

It was driving him crazy
That fly on the wall
No one else saw it
So his wife made the call.

The hospital workers
Carried him swiftly away
His attire a white jacket
For many a day.

Bars on the windows
Walls that had pads
How had something so small
Caused him to go mad?

As he drifted to sleep
In a drug-induced dream
That fly laughed aloud
Insanity evoking a scream.

If this wasnt so well written I would have to enquire what meds the doc gave you for pain Melissa. Coincidence the character is in bed while you convalesce? Hmm, not convinced :)
Who am I to make sense of sanity? The mind is so fragile that when insanity visits, it finds a welcome mat at the door.
