Heart's Embrace

Heart's Embrace

A Poem by MelissaAndres
"

Wrote this after my son was born in '88 but also with my Mother in mind as well.

"

She strokes dark, wet hair
With a shaky finger
Breathing a sigh of relief
That he did not linger.

The newborn baby boy
Had just made her a Mom
He was such a beautiful child
And made her feel so calm.

Mothers deserve so much more
Than just one day a year
Embrace your Mother with your heart
The bond will become clear.

I loved the rhyme scheme and I really enjoyed reading your poem Melissa! The bond between a mother and her child is unbreakable and honestly something beautiful. Your poem displays that love perfectly and its a joy to read! Thank you for that privilege.
