Embers Of LifeA Poem by Melisa Poppjust a poemTremendous Trembles and embers of flames long since unlit
The fascination of the skin and the truth of a finger tip
Those passions igniting but yet blown out so cold
The frequent relighting of a love that is old
As time passes on and we wonder wher we've been
The torment and toil the cheating of men
The black and white screen is still filled with grain
The reel is still going it still sounds the same
The film has been cut and the fire comsumes
What we once thought was romance is ever so doomed
But those embers keep burning the flame still unlit
The cold and the trembles of this long night still sit
The glow will continue embracing our hearts
Waiting in the moment the fire of life starts. © 2008 Melisa PoppAuthor's Note
